On the Day

[section added Monday, October 20, 2014]

  • In preparation, please remember that this is an SCA Demo and, as such, does not require attendees to make the attempt to dress in pre-1600 clothing. Wear your street clothes. (If you wish, please do feel free to wear garb.)
  • Gate is located just inside the Elm Street entrance to the church.
  • There is elevator access to all floors of the site.
  • Limited street parking is available on South Street and Elm Street. (Please note that the parking spaces on the Great Road in front of the church are all 1-hour parking only.)
  • Parking is available at the nearby Town Hall complex, which can be accessed by turning right off of Elm Street and following the road into the town parking areas. You can also drive past the church and take the second left onto Mudge Way; the Town Hall complex parking will be on your left. The parking complex is about 300 yards from the event site.

Event Description

The day is intended to provide a forum for arts and sciences researchers to gather together and share what they are learning, using all the useful tools for knowledge transfer that are available in a modern, conference-style setting. Breakout rooms and lounge space will be available for kibitzing and further exploration of topics that caught your interest during one presentation or another.

Coffee and other beverages will be available throughout the day; a lunch is available for a separate fee and must be reserved by October 17. You are entirely welcome to bring your own lunch; there will be ample space for lunch and there are also a number of nearby eateries (see the Local Amenities link below), both takeout and not. This is a modern-dress gathering; there will be no dayboard, feast, or other event activities.

Come hear about…

Volcanism and Medieval Weather
The Guards of Fabris and Capo Ferro
Jewish Knights
Fabric Painting and Banner Preparation in the Middle Ages
The Dome Built on Air
Recreating an Anglo-Saxon Glass Bead Necklace
